Description
The Limited Edition features an alternate cover, custom endpapers, plus two ribbon bookmarks. Once the print run for this edition sells out, it will not be reprinted. A gorgeous edition of the game that looks striking whether it's at your table or on your gaming shelf.
Unity War III is over.
The age of electroplasmic fusion is here.
The future is now.
Prepare to enter... the Bluetime.
Blades '68 spins the timeline of Blades in the Dark forward 100 years and launches you into the radical, Swinging Sixties.
New playbooks, revolutionary crews, fresh factions and daring heists await you on the vibrant streets of Doskvol in this official 450-page expansion from the subversive mind of Tim Denee (Deathmatch Island).
It's time to get groovy, it's time to get dangerous, it's time to get weird with Blades '68.
Outside, Blades '68 features the high quality, premium quality you've come to expect from Evil Hat: a gorgeous 450-page matte hardcover with spot-varnish finishing touches, a comfy and portable 6" x 9" format, and creator Tim Denee's signature, stylish layout.
Inside, you'll find a fully re-imagined Doskvol, ready to explore. Subversive spy games, daring heists, and paranormal mindbenders all await you in this official expansion for Blades in the Dark (which is required to play).
In Blades '68 you'll take on the role of Radicals, Swingers, Intellectuals and Paranomalists. You'll join forces with hard-bitten fixers, ex-military Veterans, shadowy Operatives, and outcast souls sealed inside a robot body.
Put those PCs together into new Crews like the revolutionary Militants, thrill-seeking Racers, or the mysterious esoteric cult of the Utopians.
After two major wars and key technological discoveries, electroplasmic fusion has dramatically reshaped the city of Doskvol.
In the Swinging Sixties, there's a plasmovision in every home, an autopod in every driveway, and the B.L.U.E. array overhead keeps the supernatural horrors of the deathlands at bay. (Mostly.)
For average citizens it's an age of science, conformity, and consumerism.
Your moment is now.
Blades '68 helps you dive right into the action with four Cold Opens: short, punchy scores to kick off a campaign or run as an exciting one-shot.
Five Ticking Timebombs delineate city-wide issues that simmer under the idyllic surface of Doskvol, ready to explode and interrupt the business of your Crew.
- Adjustments to the gameplay cycle, score aftermath, entanglements, and downtime.
- New rules for Harm and Resistance streamline play for the free-flowing, Swinging Sixties.
- Keys and Deadlocks expand your character options with personality traits you can lean on for XP or cross off for moments when you've succumbed to stress.
- An adapted version of the Trouble Engine (designed by Morgan Davie) which helps the GM engage faction clocks, generate new entanglements, and track new developments (and unrest) in your Crew's district.

Preorder FAQs
A preorder lets you reserve a copy of a game before it actually arrives. We only make copies that we're guaranteed to get available for preorder - the number of available copies shown above is the number of copies that haven't been claimed yet.
If a preorder is sold out, it means all of the copies we've been guaranteed so far have been claimed. But there's always a chance we'll be able to get more - click the "Notify me when available" button above to get an email as soon as more are released!
We cannot guarantee any product's arrival date. We'll give you a best guess, as given to us by distributors and publishers, but these may be (and often are) subject to changes and delays.
The stock listed for preorder items is the number of copies we'll be receiving that have not yet been claimed.
For example, if we are expecting to receive 20 copies of an item and 12 have already been preordered by other customers, our site will show 8 copies available - even though they aren't physically in our store yet.
There are a few places where our website says these items are “in stock” - these are artifacts of our website platform and the wording is unfortunately out of our control. Rest assured, we aren’t holding out on you!
Almost certainly yes. We make every effort to avoid over-promising products, so we only take preorders for the quantities we have confirmed from our suppliers.
In extremely rare cases a supplier may short us on our order due to a production or allocation error. When this happens we will honour preorders in the order we received them and contact customers to advise them of the situation and make things right.
We will hold the shipment until everything has arrived. Once everything in your order is present and accounted for, we’ll send them all in one package. If you prefer to ship the items separately, please contact us at hello@raincity.games and we can help you out.
We will make your items ready as soon as we can - we will email you when the in-stock items are ready for pickup, then send you another email when the preorder item arrives.
Preorders may be cancelled at any time; please send an email to hello@raincity.games and we can help you with that.
Note that this policy does NOT apply to any preorders for TCG products or for Magic: The Gathering singles due to their constantly fluctuating values.
Send us an email at hello@raincity.games and we'll see what we can do!
