Wet those brushes!
Rain City Games is excited to announce another Miniature Painting Competition, set to take place over the month of June!
Here’s how it will work. Starting June 1st or any time after, Participants will come to our Vancouver location and be given a miniature to paint. You’ll have until 7pm on June 30th to work your artistic magic, at which time you’ll need to return the miniature to Rain City Games for judging (miniatures may be returned early). Photos of the miniatures will be posted to our discord where you can vote for the fan favourite while behind closed doors the staff of Rain City Games will deliberate over 1st and 2nd place. Winners will be announced sometime during the following week.
What miniature will be given to you? Who can say? It could be anything Rain City Games sells; a Dragon, a Space Marine, a Battlemech, or even some lowly Human Bard. That’s not important. What’s important is that each participant will be given the same miniature with which to paint their (possibly grotesque) canvas!
Miniatures may be altered or kit-bashed however the participant likes, so long as the majority of the provided miniature is still used in the final submission.
While we assume most painting will be done at home, participants may also wish to attend our new Drop-In Paint Nights on Wednesday evenings to work on their miniatures. Limited painting supplies are provided by Rain City Games during these Drop-In Paint Nights. Admission to one Drop-In Paint Night during the month of January is included free of charge.
The fine print: With the exception of the Junior prize, prizes assume at least eight participants and are subject to change. Additionally, we at RCG believe in sharing the wealth, so no participant may win more than one prize per contest. For example, should the entry with the most Fan Favourite votes also be judged to be the Winner, they would receive the Winner prize and the entry with the 2nd most Fan Favourite votes would receive the Fan Favourite prize.
