Welcome Scummers!

Rain City Games is proud to announce its first ever Necromunda Campaign.

  • Start Date: Wednesday, January 21st, 2026
  • Price: $30.00 for the entire league
  • Campaign structure: Campaign consists of 7 two-week cycles of tabletop gang violence!
  • Location: Vancouver
  • Arbitrator: Channing

Campaign Format

This campaign will run as a seven cycle Dominion Campaign set entirely in the Underhive (meaning, gangs will not be allowed vehicles or wargear that grant the “mounted” condition) with gangs fighting for control of territories. The first three cycles of the Campaign will be the Occupation phase. The last three cycles will be the Takeover Phase. The middle (fourth) cycle will serve as a downtime cycle though the arbitrator will host a special battle that all gangs can take part in, should they choose to do so.

Each cycle will run Tuesday to Monday fourteen days later (meaning each cycle is a two week period) and every gang will be expected to play one battle during that cycle. Official time slots will be made available for in-store battles (usually on Wednesday evenings), but coaches are welcome to arrange alternate times with that week’s opponent if needed.

Ideally, all battles will be played at the Rain City Games Vancouver location and it will be each gang’s responsibility to work with Rain City Games staff to coordinate table reservations, however coaches are allowed to use other venues, though they obviously won’t be able to make use of any supplies, dice, terrain or minis that Rain City Games can otherwise provide.

Battles & Challenges

During the first cycle, each gang will be assigned an opponent by the arbitrator. During each other cycle, battles will be fought based on issued and accepted challenges as follows:

  • At the start of each cycle, challenges will be issued (over Discord) by gangs in ascending order starting with the gang with the lowest Gang Rating. If two gangs have the same Gang Rating, the winner of a roll-off makes the first challenge.
  • During the Occupation Phase, the challenger nominates one uncontrolled Territory to be the stake of the battle, which will be removed from the pool of territories by the Arbitrator until the conclusion of the battle. If there are no uncontrolled territories, the challenger instead nominates one Territory controlled by the gang they are challenging to be the stake of the battle.
  • During the Takeover Phase, the challenger nominates one Territory controlled by the gang they are challenging to be the stake of the battle.
  • If one of the gang’s fighters has been captured by another gang, rather than challenging for a Territory, that gang may issue a challenge to the captors to play the Rescue Mission scenario.
  • When a gang is challenged, they may accept or decline. I accepted, a battle is fought. If declined the Territory is automatically claimed by the challenger.
  • If a gang receives two or more challenges during a single cycle, they may decline the second and subsequent challenges without penalty.

Any gang that wins a challenge takes control of the Territory (or retains control). If the battle is a draw:

  • During the Occupation phase, neither gang takes control of the Territory if it was previously unclaimed.
  • During the Takeover phase, the gang that controlled the Territory prior to the battle retains control.

Triumphs

Rain City Games stresses that this campaign is intended to be and feel very casual. Despite that, gangs can still earn Triumphs (aka “bragging rights”) at the end of the campaign in a number of ways as follows:

  • Dominator - Most Territories controlled at the end.
  • Slaughterer - Most enemy fighters taken Out of Action.
  • Creditor - Largest accumulated Wealth.
  • Powerbroker - Highest Reputation.

Requirements and Fees

There will be a $30 campaign entry fee, payable upfront. Payment must be made by 6:00pm on January 14th. Additionally, should any participant also purchase at least $50 worth of Necromunda products from Rain City Games prior to the campaign starting, they’ll receive a one-time $15 discount on that purchase.

Terrain, dice, and other supplies will be provided by Rain City Games for coaches to use in-store. Additionally, Rain City Games owns a handful of gangs of miniatures and can provide them for in-store use to any participant that does not have their own, but participants are expected to have their own miniatures by the end of the Downtime cycle.

All miniatures used must be official Games Workshop (GW) miniatures with the following restrictions and/or allowances:

  • Participants are welcome to use any GW miniature in place of another GW miniature (ex. Using a 40k Ork in lieu of a Goliath special character is fine).
  • Each coach may use a maximum of THREE non-Games Workshop miniatures in lieu of official Games Workshop miniatures on their team.
  • Miniatures need not be painted if they are official GW miniatures, though there will be a prize (see below) for the best-painted gang. Non-GW minis are required to be fully painted (not just primed) prior to being used.

Rain City Games has the following teams available for use in-store:

  • Esher Gang
  • Delaque Gang
  • Ironhead Squat Prospectors Gang

This campaign will be managed on Yaktribe.com. This is where we will track, adjust and manage gangs and the overall campaign as a whole. If you need any help with Yaktribe, please ask the Arbitrator.

The Necromunda channel of the Rain City Games’ Discord server will be the main chat channel and place where games can be organized each week. Additionally, all pre-game and post-game dice rolls, including territory generating and trading post dice rolls, will be made using the dice roller in that channel.

Rules of Play

For this campaign, only rules found in the Necromunda: Core Rulebook will be used.

WYSIWYG will be in effect except for grenades, holstered pistols and other concealed wargear options. Additionally, a maximum of two heavy weapons or special weapons total per gang will be allowed at any time (ex. two heavy weapons, two special weapons or one of each).

Additionally, as this is our first Necromunda league and we are bound to stumble into a lot of rules ambiguity, we’re going to have to roll with the punches a bit and remember that this is meant to be a casual campaign. That said, once the Arbiter makes a decision on something, his ruling is final.

Gang Construction

Gangs will be constructed with a maximum of 1,000 credits to be spent on fighters and their weapons and wargear. Note that any unspent credits from gang creation will be lost.

Eligible gangs include the following:

  • Cawdor Gang
  • Orlock Gang
  • Goliath Gang
  • Esher Gang
  • Delaque Gang
  • Van Saar Gang
  • Corpse Grinder Cult Gang
  • Ash Wastes Nomad Gang
  • Palanite Gang
  • Ironhead Squat Prospector Gang

Prizing

Every participant who earns a Triumph will receive a $15 Rain City Games gift card. Because we live by a “share the wealth” philosophy here at Rain City Games, no one participant will be allowed to win more than one Triumph. Any extra prizing they would have won will be awarded to a runner-up participant in each Triumph category they were eligible to win.

Additionally, the participant deemed by the Arbitrator to have the best-painted gang will receive a $15 Rain City Games gift card.

$10 will be added to the prize pool for every participating gang in the campaign beyond the eighth. This extra prize pool money will increase the gift card prizing with 75% of it being split amongst the Triumphs winners and 25% of it going to the best painter.
